Every dish is mild: it’s all about the spices and the flavour. All food is pre-ordered. Allergies are discussed when you book and reminded on the day, so the kitchen can ensure that your dish is adjusted.

How to book

Call or email us on 017683 53550 or at 71appleby@gmail.com, and choose the 12:30 or 15:30 sitting.
Pay a £25 deposit per person in cash at the restaurant to hold your table.
Choose your three courses. Download the menu selection form (PDF, 672 KB), or collect a printed copy from the restaurant, then fill it in and return it to us so the kitchen can prepare for every guest.
Pay the balance by Tuesday 1 December. The remaining £40 per person is due by then, in cash at the restaurant, so the full £65 is paid before Christmas.

Vegetarian? Please call the restaurant and we’ll talk you through the options.
Children. There is no children’s menu on Christmas Day.
Drinks are not included and are charged separately.
Slow-Cooked Lamb Leg is a sharing centrepiece for 4 guests, so please plan your party’s choices around it.
Allergies are discussed when you book and reminded on the day, so the kitchen can ensure that your dish is adjusted.

Christmas Day booking policy

As most of you are aware, we are a small restaurant with very limited seating, so we really appreciate your understanding and cooperation regarding our Christmas Day booking policy.

All deposits are non-refundable. If anyone cancels or drops out of a booking, the deposit will unfortunately be forfeited.
The full amount is payable for every guest booked. If a member of your party is unable to attend on Christmas Day, the full amount for that guest will still be payable. This is because all food is pre-ordered and prepared specifically for the number of guests included in each booking.

We completely understand that circumstances can sometimes change, and we appreciate your understanding of our policy, which helps us plan and prepare for what is always a very special and busy day.
