This notice explains what we do with personal information when you use this website or contact the restaurant. It is written to meet our obligations under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
This website is operated by 71 LTD (Companies House registration number 17075521), trading as 7eventy1, 9 Bridge Street, Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria CA16 6QH.
You can reach us by telephone on 017683 53550 or 017683 52225 during opening hours, or by post at the address above.
71 LTD is the data controller for the information described below.
Very little. This site is a brochure for the restaurant. It has no accounts, no booking form, no shopping basket, no payment processing, no newsletter sign-up and no analytics or advertising tracking.
The only information stored on your device by this site is a security cookie set by Cloudflare, which protects the site from automated abuse. Our Cookie Policy explains it in full. If you choose to load the map on our Find Us page, Google will then set its own cookies — the map does not load until you ask it to.
If you ring to book a table or place a collection order, we take what we need to hold the booking or prepare the order — typically your name, a contact telephone number, the date and time, the number of people, and anything you tell us about allergies or dietary requirements.
Information about allergies and intolerances is health information, which the law treats as a special category. We use it only to prepare your food safely, we take it because you have chosen to tell us, and we do not keep it beyond the visit it relates to.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for marketing. Two service providers handle data in the course of delivering this website:
We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with an environmental health officer, HM Revenue & Customs, or in response to a lawful request.
Booking and order details are kept only for as long as we need them to provide the meal and deal with anything arising from it, and are then destroyed. Records we are required by law to keep — accounting records, for example — are held for the period the law specifies.
Our records are kept in the United Kingdom. The service providers named above operate global networks, so some technical data may be processed outside the UK under the safeguards set out in their own published notices.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, ring 017683 53550 or write to us at 9 Bridge Street, Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria CA16 6QH. We do not charge for this, and we will respond within one month.
We do not make any decision about you by automated means, and we do not profile our customers.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please tell us. Ring 017683 53550 or write to the address above, marking your letter Data protection complaint.
We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, and respond in full without undue delay.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection. You can reach the ICO at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would ask that you raise it with us first so we have the chance to put things right.
If we change how we use personal information we will update this page and change the date below.
